A history of the ‘Afrikaners’ the Khoi people that fled or migrated from the Hantam into Namibia, where they established themselves in the  southern region previously peopled by the Bondelswarts. From here they commenced livestock raids in all directions, including across the Orange/Gariep. The author makes a case for the rebellious outbreak of 1897 being caused by restrictive regulations promulgated by the German administration to combat the spread of Rinderpest. This caused much hardship to the pastoral tribes and skirmishes ensued on both sides of the river.. pp 65-96 with bw illustrations and fold-out map. Good codnition.
